He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecilia Maher (McArdle) and Robert Maher; and his brothers, Robert and Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Maher (Lomasz); his daughter Cate (Fred Cardella); his grandsons, Brian (Katie Parsons) and Clayton (Cardella); and his siblings, Joe, Maureen, Jerome, Ellen and Henry. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Finch Funeral Home (310 Oak St, DeKalb, IL 60115). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 5:30 PM at the same location.
