She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleo Bouland and Evis Bouland (Earney); her son Charles Long; and her siblings, Tim, Ronnie Bouland and Diane Bouland.

She is survived by: her husband Richard E. Grasty of DeKalb; her son Rich of DeKalb; her grandchildren, Joy, Faith, Richard, Jackson and Kramer Grasty; and her siblings, Steve Bouland of Dixon, IL, Phillip Bouland (Roxanne) of Branson, MO, Linda Windland (Del Jr.) of Rochelle, IL, Kay Bouland of Dexter, MO, Melody Bouland of Webster, TX and Lydia Bouland of Harrison, AR. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joy's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
