With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Verna Ruth (Kraske) Odom in DeKalb, Illinois, born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on January 19, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Kraske and Dorothy Kraske (Lembke); her former husband Ira Edgar Odom; her brother Carl Kraske (Judy); her daughter Amy Elizabeth Pearson (Mark); and her great grandchild Madison Rose Pearson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Ellen Odom and Alison Adams (John); her grandchildren, Eric Pearson (Regina), Kelly Pearson Jones (Trevor), Emily Bemis, Courtney Bemis Wright (Jake), Heather Bemis, Nathan Adams and Colin Adams; and her great grandchildren, Judah, Emmett, Luke Jones, Margot Pearson and Noah Wright.
While teaching and raising 3 daughters in DeKalb, she was involved in many organizations including 4-H with her daughters, American Association of University Women, and the American Cancer Society.
