Wanda Giles Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wanda Giles of DeKalb, Illinois, who passed away on February 15, 2023 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Wanda Giles to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Knofel Pierce Hancock and Georgia Mae Land Hancock. She is survived by: her husband James Giles (Jim); her daughter Morgan Kathleen Giles-Hadley; and her son-in-law Jon Hadley.

In lieu of flowers, Wanda's family requests that donations be made to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health or the Northwestern Medical Kishwaukee Hospital Cancer Center here in DeKalb.

“Tom and I send our deepest sympathy for the loss of Wanda. She lives, however in the legacy of family, friends, students as well as in the grateful readers of her books. Tom enjoyed speaking with Wanda on many occasions while assisting her and Jim with home projects. She always showed an interest in Tom and his own connections to community, family course, etc. Our respect and love goes out to Jim and Morgan and her entire family and friends. Rest well, Wanda.”
