He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles VanDyke and Lesta Deweese VanDyke; his wife Sandra Wethington; his brothers, Charles, Marvin, Jesse, Jack, Kenny and Troy; and his children, Larry Lee VanDyke and Julie C. Connett.

He is survived by: his son James VanDyke (Rose) of Delavan; and his grandchildren, Tabitha Keayes (Jessie) of Delavan, James R. VanDyke (Nishirya) of Houston, TX, Lance Connett of Delavan and Dean VanDyke of South Pekin. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Bible Church.
