He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Dirks and Karen Shoven Dirks; and his daughter Katherine. He is survived by : his wife Valerie Thompson; his children, Christopher Dirks (Hanna) of Mahomet, Jeremy Dirks (LaZadrea Thomas) of Mt. Vernon, Logan Dirks (Emily) of Morton and Garrett Dirks of Mt. Vernon; his stepsons, Jesse Thompson and Cody Thompson; his grandchildren, Peyton, Owen, Grayson, Jackson, Alorra, Jay, Easton, Lucy, Daisy, Lillian, Amilyanna, Braleigh, Kash and Wyatt; and his siblings, Jeff Dirks (Faye) of McDonough, GA, Joni Dirks Ellis of Delavan and Brenda Forbes (Rex) of Delavan.
