He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Edward and Zelma Alice Detmers (Gibson); and his sister Sonita Runnel. He is survived by : his wife Margie Kay Bowles; his daughters, Debra Fansler (Daryl) of Maryville, Elizabeth Ann Martin of Yates City and Lynda Detmers of Morton, Illinois; his granddaughters, Margaret Grace Fansler of Arlington and Melody Ann Martin of Yates City; and his sister Wilma Brenneman (Alvin) of LeRoy, Illinois..
