He was predeceased by: his parents, William Albert and Stella Adeline Trueblood Dowds; his wife Connie S. Gillett; and his brother Roger Dowds. He is survived by: his sons, William Austen Dowds (Dez) and Chance Dowds (Angela); his grandchildren, Trinity Dowds, William Konnor Dowds, Juniper Dowds and Ayden J. Hoover; his siblings, Larry Dowds (Margaret), Valarie Gazza (Tim) and Carolyn Ingold (Van); and his sister-in-law Pam Dowds. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Illinois Cancer Care Foundation in Peoria in his name.
