Harry L. Geffert Obituary
Harry L. Geffert, 52 of Union, formerly of Huntley, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Woodstock. He was born March 11, 1965 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Harry W. and Joan (Wildaur) Geffert. He was raised in Elmhurst and started HLG Construction in Carol Stream, early in his working career. In 1989, he retired from construction and became a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
He was united in marriage to Cynthia M. Gentile on December 29, 1993 in Geneva. The couple made their home in Des Plaines, Carpentersville, Huntley for 18 years and in December moved to Union. Harry was proud of his children, enjoyed time with family and friends, loved working on cars and trucks and cherished his 1970 El Camino.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Union, children, Jonathon Parker of Woodstock and Jaclyn Geffert of Union and his brother, Steven (Linda) Geffert of Elmhurst. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will be held from 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21st at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
