He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Carlsen and Katherine Carlsen. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Cote-Carlsen; his daughters, Debra Carlsen, Sandra Carlsen (Harold Christopher), Barbara Germana (Guido), Laura Carlsen and Tamara Carlsen; his stepson Joseph Cheslak (Beatrice); his sister Judy Thomas (late Kenneth); his grandchildren, Richard Germana, Christina Germana, Brandi Boettcher, Hanna April (Dillon) and Rocky Sbravati; and his great grandchild Lucy Fetterly.
