We announce the death of Kevin J. O'Connell of Des Plaines, Illinois, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 73. He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis O'Connell and John O'Connell. He is survived by: his siblings, John O'Connell (Lynn), Michael O'Connell (Jodie), James O'Connell (Rose) and Kathy Wallace (David); his daughters, Melissa Samp (Steven), Meghan Richardson (Chris) and Margaret Jump (Austin); his grandchildren, Martin, Tegan, Taylor, Tinsley and Blue; and his fiancée Tamara Girten.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the G. L. Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Center (745 Graceland Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the American Legion (1291 Oakwood Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (1775 Grove St, Glenview, IL 60025).
