He was predeceased by: his father Larry Dean; his mother-in-law Lorraine "Johnny" (Romonna Ochs); his aunt Sue Meyer; his uncle Cloyce Rife; his siblings-in-law, Joann Mette (Kenny), Leo Ochs, Allen Ochs and Neil Ochs (Mary); and his nephew Keith Mette.
He is survived by: his mother Marilyn Fay Robards (Teiffel) of Dieterich, Illinois; his wife Thresa Robards of Dieterich; his children, Eric Robards (Chelsa) of Newton, Illinois, Kevin Robards (Justin) of San Antonio, Texas and Jennifer Goedde (Matt) of Dieterich; his grandchildren, Avery and Alaina Robards; his sisters, Tina Robards of Montrose and Leslie Robards of Dieterich; his siblings-in-law, Harold Ochs, Sue Ochs, Eileen Ochs, Carol Hahn (Don), Sharon Watson, Mary Helregel (Ken), Helen Grunloh (Andy) and Kathy Helregel (David); and his aunt Norma Rife.
