He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kutz and Lucille Kutz (Sherman); his son Bryan Kutz; his siblings, David Kutz, Louann Kalas (Ron) and Cathy "Kate" Heinitsch (Dave); and his siblings-in-law, Diane Kutz and Richard Hubbard.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Kutz; his children, Brent Kutz, Jason Kutz (Kelsey) and Erin Gates (Albert); his grandchildren, Les Kutz (Olly Greer), Toby Kutz, Brandon Gates, Avery Gates, Zander Appleman-Kutz, Jeremy Phillips and Anakin Kutz; his siblings, Jack Kutz (Carolyn), Ed Kutz, Dennis (Carolyn), Jeanette Kutz-Hubbard and Virginia Birrenkott (Mark); his sister-in-law Jeanette Kutz (Kemp); and his pets, Michael and Raphael. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (612 Highland Ave, Dixon, IL 61021). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (1121 N Galena Ave, Dixon, IL 61021).
