John Glen Frybarger Obituary

John Glen Frybarger, born on May 11, 1949, of Rock Falls, IL, passed away in his home on January 7, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

John Glen was preceded in death by his father, John S. Frybarger of Harmon, IL; his mother, Betty Jane (Kolze) Frybarger of Bensenville, IL; and his sister, Sharon Louise Hurst of Rock Falls, IL.

John left behind four siblings, Larry R. Frybarger of Dixon, IL, Diana Frybarger of Knoxville, TN, Nancy Zion-Collins of Winter Haven, FL, and Marlene Gail Zelinske of Palatine, IL. John loved all of his nieces and nephews, Shelly, Rusty, Heidi, Jennifer, Timmy, and Jimmy and was known as "Uncle John".

John Glen, sometimes nicknamed, Jonathan, was born in Huntington, Indiana and was brought into this world by his grandfather, Dr. Clarence E. Frybarger, who saved his life as a breech born baby. John grew up in Itasca, IL and attended Lake Park High School in Medinah, IL. Most of John's working career was in real estate sales. He will be interred at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, IL, next to his beloved "Aunt Gigi".

John's last kind words to his one and only brother were "have a nice day". As a tribute to John Glen Frybarger, alias Jonathan, the family is requesting no monetary donations but rather asks to be kind to one another, pay it forward, and "have a nice day".

Grace Stamper wrote a sympathy message

“My name is Grace Stamper and I am a very dear friend of John's sister, Diana Frybarger in Knoxville, TN. I was referred to by "Jon Jon" as Amazing Grace as we spoke to one another over the phone. I got to know what a kind caring man he was with a fun sense of humor and how much he loved the "Cubbies". He will be greatly missed by his Diana and me, his phone friend. 🙏 May he rest now in the peace of the arms of Jesus Amen 🙏”
