The memory of John E. Murphy (Dixon, Illinois), who passed away on May 12, 2026 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Murphy and Beulah Murphy; and his grandchild Cory Murphy. He is survived by: his friend Joe Campbell; his wife Mary Murphy; his brother Jim Murphy; and his children, J. Scott Murphy (Sandi), Bill Murphy (Dianne), Jerry Murphy (Susan), Amy Appelquist (Rick), Le Murphy-Cresto (John), Russell Murphy and Joy Welty (Scott). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and cherished friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 31st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dixon Elks Lodge 1279 (1279 Franklin Grove Rd, Dixon, IL 61021).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home of Oregon, IL.
