Sherry McCollum Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sherry McCollum of Dixon, Illinois, who passed away on July 28, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Coppotelli and Gladys Coppotelli (Seybert); her children-in-law, Keith Tompkins and Jackie McCollum; her grandchildren, Devin Michael James McCollum and Amber Washam; her brother Joseph Coppotelli; and her brother-in-law Lee Truitt.

She is survived by: her husband Harold "Short" McCollum; her children, Jim Scott-McCollum (Michael) of Davenport, IA, Tammy Tompkins of Rock Falls and Terry McCollum of Amboy, IL; her grandsons, Dustin McCollum, Joshua Tompkins, Justin Tompkins and Jason Tompkins; her siblings, Gary Coppotelli (Trish) and Sandy Truitt; and her sister-in-law Barbara Ann Coppotelli. She is also survived by many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Ltd. (213 Crawford Ave, Dixon, IL 61021). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery (416 S Dement Ave, Dixon, IL 61021).
