He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hale and Imogene Hale (Brown); his wife Donna Kay Nuttall; his children, Linda Diane Hale and Thomas Lee Hale (Valerie); and his brother William Hale.

He is survived by: his son Jeffrey William Hale (Jayme) of Dixon; his sisters, Linda Maves (Charles) and Christine Knight (Bernard); his grandchildren, Devin Hale (Mariela), Courtney Dodd (Dantrion), Stephanie Harvey (Brock), Gable Hale and Payton Hale; his great grandchildren, Rhyon (Nataile Miller), Sadie, Prosper and Aramis; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Hale, Denell Reubin (Rick), Darlene Taft (Dave), Danny Nuttall (Fern) and Richard Stangeland.
