He was predeceased by: his parents, James Deering and Marion Deering; his wife Carol Schmitt Deering; his siblings, James, Peter Deering, Alma Sedor and Judy Sheftic; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Macdonald Deering.

He is survived by: his sons, Sean (late Lisa), Connor (Heather), Jimmy (Lisa) and Brian Deering (Regan). He is also survived by family and friends as an honest, loyal, and loving husband, father, brother, grandpa "Buppa", uncle, and friend.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Services (60 S Grant St, Hinsdale, IL 60521). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
