We are sad to announce that, on May 8, 2026, at the age of 17, David August Matthies of Downers Grove, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Robert T. Matthies, Robert D. Tomy and Mary Adele Tomy. He is survived by: his parents, David R. Matthies and Joanna M. Matthies; his brothers, Robert and P. J. Matthies; his grandmother Suzanne Dicke Matthies; his aunts and uncles, Matt, Jandy Tomy, Patti, Brian Wilk, Kim and Jim Brouch; his cousins, Mark, Jennifer Brouch, Brin, Grant Wilk, Jack, Ben and Will Tomy; Augie.
