He was predeceased by: his son Todd Shannon; and his siblings, Joanne (late Gerry Faber) and Thomas Shannon (Nancy). He is survived by: his wife Lucille; his children, David Shannon (Rick Allen), Julie Cecala (John) and Kathleen Meyer (Dean); his grandchildren, Shannon Siegle (Jonathan), Kristina Scanlon (Ryan), Alexandra Tiritilli (Christopher), Dean Meyer (Caroline), John Paul Cecala (Juliet), Frances Scott (Charles) and Todd Meyer; and his great grandchildren, Angelica, Julian, Regina, Colette, Gia, Vince, Violette, Mia, Valentina and Ava.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Services (4343 Main St, Downers Grove, IL 60515). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of Gostyn Church (445 Prairie Ave, Downers Grove, IL 60515).
