She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Burns and Laurie Sweany Burns; her siblings, Angie Bryant and Daniel Burns (Claudia Fox); her nephew Joseph Burns; and her stepmother Katherine Burns.

She is survived by: her son Philip Bowen of Buffalo Grove, IL; and her sisters, Louise Burns of Chicago, IL, Rose Rettke (John) of Naperville, IL and Geri Kubiesa (Walt) of Durham, NC. She is also survived by nephews and nieces; and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home (4343 Main St, Downers Grove, IL 60515). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
