It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sam Scala of Downers Grove, Illinois, who passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rosanna; his children, Maria Pieranunzi (Joe), Angelo Scala (Diana), Rosa Florio (Mario) and Sam Jr. Scala (Joellen); his grandchildren, Analisa, Mia, Isabella, Mario, Santino, Luca, Ava, Giuliana, Sammy, Antonella, Antonio, Francesca, Angelo, Valentina and Mila; his sibling Jude Scala; his siblings-in-law, Fiorella Auriemma, Bill Auriemma, Salvatore DeSimone (Donna) and Mimma Ralls (late Don); and his pet Scooter. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews, and a constant companion.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Sam's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
