She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Dyer and Lorena Dyer (Whitten); her son Duane Derby; her husband John Carrel; and her brothers, Marlind Ellsworth and Danny Ellsworth.
She is survived by: her children, Lori Rainwater (John) of Du Quoin, Jim Derby, Jr. (Teresa) of Troy, IL and Jason Derby (Carol) of Du Quoin; the father of her children Jim Derby, Sr.; her grandchildren, Jacob Rainwater, Erica (Luke Roman), Adam (Kenzie Derby), Taylor (Danny Ratulowski), Brooke (Bradley Yeckering) and Andrew Derby; her great grandchildren, Margaret Ruth Roman, Mary Ellis Roman and Vincent James Ratulowski; her siblings, Lorraine Tilley (George) of Du Quoin and David Dyer (Peggy) of Ripley, IL; her nephew Larry Tilley; and her niece Tammy Kish.
Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Du Quoin Youth Club and will be accepted at the funeral home.
