He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Vancil and Annabell Vancil (Bailey); and his brothers, Bill and Howard. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Elaine Vancil (Timpner); his daughter Deborah (Dan Bandy) of Herrin; his grandchildren, Tony, Laura McLaughlin, Ross Bandy, Jane Powers (Austyn), Derrick and Rebekah Seabaugh; his son David (Debbie) of Du Quoin; his grandchildren, Tim, Jennifer Craft, John, Jessi Vancil, Brian and Mindy Tackitt; his sons, Dennis of Du Quoin and Darryl (Beth) of Du Quoin; his grandchildren, Bailey, Heather Vancil, Brooke Vancil and Weston Kabat (Jake); his daughter Denise (Tim Smith); and his grandchildren, Andrew and Summer Smith (Elaina). He is also survived by five children, nine grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
