It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Marie Lucas of Du Quoin, Illinois, who passed away on June 4, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, William C. Cook and Pearl Cook Vancil (Pierce); her grandson Jeffery Conner; and her siblings, Billie Cook, Brian Cook, Bobby Cook, Nancy McClanahan, Norma Sweatland and Ruth Ann Reeves.

She is survived by : her children, Sherry Wertz (Pete) of Du Quoin, Lonnie Mifflin of Christopher, Michelle Fatnassi (Issam) of Orlando, FL and Darold Lucus (Heather) of Marion, IL; her siblings, Janice Hart (Kenny) of Jerseyville, IL, Kathy Jo Stanton of Dowell, Jimmy Cook (Marveline) of Royalton, Sharon Welch (Chuck) of Florida and Joan Malotte (Bob) of Winter Garden, FL; her grandchildren, Courtany Rizzotte (Mike), Brandy Mifflin, Brittany Mifflin, Jennifer Mateycak (Tim), Erin Puffer (Mark), Katie Morrison (Tyger), Brooklynn Rodriguez (Austin), Graham Lucus, Madison Mangrum (Jacob) and Heather Morris; her great grandchildren, Noah Mifflin, Jaxon Fellner, Serenity Mateycak, Freya Mateycak and Shelby Puffer; and her close friends, Nancy Knope, Sandy Hill, Janet Kehl and Michele Lacey.

Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin Elks Lodge, Perry County Humane Society or Jeff Conner Memorial Scholarship and will be accepted at the funeral home.
