She was predeceased by : her father Arthur Paul; and her nephew Jason Kurtz. She is survived by : her mother Bessie Mae Gant (Tanner) of Du Quoin; her siblings, Paula Kurtz (Harold) of Tamaroa, Roger Gant (Lori) of Mulkeytown and Mary Melvin (Leroy) of Florence, AL; and her nieces and nephews, Kevin Kurtz, Paul Kurtz, Ryan Melvin, Tyson Melvin, Sean Melvin, Ashley Ramsey, Alisha Gant and Emma Montgomery.

Friends may make memorials to Du Quoin Second Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
