He was predeceased by: his parents, Etta Gillespie (Claybrook) and Cleo Gillespie; and his pets, Buddy and Socks. He is survived by: his former wife Maxine Mason; his wife Darnella Gillespie of Henderson, TN; his children, Harvey Gillespie (Brandy) of DuQuoin, IL, Tracey Gillespie of Murphysboro, IL and Makyra Gillespie of Bloomington, IL; his siblings, Andrew Cleo Gillespie (Sereatha) of DuQuoin, IL, Jeanine Baxter of DuQuoin, IL, Grace Simmons of Chicago, IL and Pamela Cunningham (Smith "Butch") of Wisconsin; and his grandchildren, Aleece Gillespie, Chelsie Gillespie, Bryce Gillespie, Taron Cocke, Carmari Lindell, Mikah Gillespie and Masen Gillespie. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and all of his loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
