He is survived by: his wife Mary Thornburg of Du Quoin; his children, Jean Mary Suycott of St. Louis, MO, Robert Andrew Haines (Katherine) of Salem, OR, Jennifer Haines Howell (Martin) of Gillette, NJ and William Richard Haines (Cynthia) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Harry Haines-Gladney, Liam Haines (Madelena), Elijah Haines (Miriam), Rory Haines, Martin Howell, Jr., Katherine Howell, Isabella Haines and Dennison Haines; and his sister Suzanne Crawford of Bozeman, MT.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Quoin Methodist Church (25 N Washington St, Du Quoin, IL 62832). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Friends may make memorials to Du Quoin Methodist Church or Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, and they will be accepted at the funeral home.
