He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde T. Carter and Lillian J. Carter (Davis); and his sister Doris Taylor. He is survived by : his wife Marcia Gaetz; his son Frank T. Taylor of Marion; his granddaughter Riley Faith Taylor of Campbell Hill; his half-sisters, Linda Goddard of Sparta, Janet Greenwood of Willisville and Kathy Hagene (John) of Mulkeytown; and his step-brother Loren Craig of Willisville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 23rd 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Searby Funeral Homes (130 S Washington St, Du Quoin, IL 62832). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 23rd 2023 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Friends may make memorials to Leukemia Foundation, Hospice of Southern Illinois or SIH Cancer Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
