Joseph Peiffer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 5, 2025, at the age of 70, Joseph Peiffer (Durand, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard M. Peiffer and Irene F. Peiffer (Scheetz); and his brothers-in-law, Gene Bragg and Jay Rosenberger. He is survived by: his wife Sally Greiner; his son Michael (Janelle); his grandchild Abilene of Peru, IA; his son Mark (Annie); his grandchildren, Max, Izzy and Lucy of Lake Summerset, IL; his daughters, Megan (Todd Webb) of Indianola and Arianna of Hundheim; his siblings, Jane Bragg of Iowa City, IA, Robert (Karla) of Iowa City, IA, Joyce Rosenberger of Indianola, IA, Tom and Pat of Harper, IA; his siblings' children, Laura Whipple (Paul) of Indianola, IA, Chris Peiffer (Brittany) of Harper, IA and Jerry Rosenberger (Mallory) of Ankeny, IA; and his aunts, Eveline Adam and Jeanene Peiffer. He is also survived by three great nephews and one great niece, numerous cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel (101 E Main St, Durand, IL 61024). A prayer was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (606 W Main St, Durand, IL 61024). A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds will be established.
