She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Long; her parents, Jay Nyman and Freda Nyman; her daughters, Cathy Long and Karen Steward; her siblings, Lois Nath and Maurice Nyman; and her close friend John Slocum.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Spry (Charlie), Denise Starnes (William) and Chuck Long (Sue); her grandchildren, Annette Geiken, Keith Geiken, William Starnes, Krista Starnes, Tricia Land and Michael Land; her sister Demetra Larson; her siblings-in-law, Erika Nyman and Howard Nath; and her lifelong pen pal Sheila Upton. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
