With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Harper of East Alton, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 10, 2026 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Emma Harper to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ebert Damm and Florence Damm (Greene); her husband Ronald Harper; her former husband John Tharp; and her sons, Dan and Mark Tharp.
She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly McGilvrey (George); her grandchildren, Emma Melcher (Zach) and Tony Wood (Brittany); her son Tim Tharp (Robyn); and her daughters-in-law, Cindy and Judy Tharp. She is also survived by six other grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Catty Shack, a cat rescue in Hamel where she got her beloved Thorn.
