He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVerne P. "Sparky" Schonhoff and Kathryn "Kate" Schonhoff (Ricke); his parents-in-law, Cyril and Bernadine Leibfried; and his brother-in-law David Leibfried.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his daughter Lori Wienen (Jeff) of Galena, IL; his granddaughters, Samantha, Alyssa and Sara Wienen; his brother Howard Schonhoff (Jan) of Menominee, IL; and his in-laws, Bill Leibfried (Mary), Ronald Leibfried and Carol Haas (Gary). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Nativity BVM Church (15390 W Creek Valley Rd, East Dubuque, IL 61025). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
