With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William M Sand Sr. of East Dubuque, Illinois, who passed away on June 20, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Sand and Elaine Sand (Maury); his in-laws, Theodore and Theresa Huekels; his grandparents, Michael, Elfrida Sand, Oscar and Rita Maury; and his half-brothers, Michael O'Rourke and Eugene Sand.
He is survived by: his wife Jolene M. Huekels; his children, Billie Jo Peterson (Bob Jones), Corey Sand (Elizabeth), Crystal Sand (Heather), Cody Sand (Amanda) and Bill Sand, Jr. (Cadalina); his grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Trevor, Kourtnee, Mia, Theo, Wyatt, Silas, Elena and Noah; his great grandchildren, Kayson, Landon and Evelyn; and his sisters, Linda Slaats (Bob) and Beverly Tippe.
Memorials may be directed to University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Hospital, in Bill's memory.
