Matthew D. Bishop Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Matthew D. Bishop (East Dundee, Illinois), born in Sycamore, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 34, on February 24, 2024. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

During the time that covid forced everyone indoors, Matt and his friend, fellow educator John Blomquist, entertained the community by playing and singing music broadcast from their basement over the internet.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church where Matt was a member, where he was confirmed and where he played as a musician as a member of the Praise Team.

Alexander Kutulas wrote a sympathy message

“I played trumpet for the AMS band program, but I was fortunate enough to work with Mr. Bishop through programs such as D300 band camp. I only have the fondest of memories for my time playing trumpet in one of Mr. Bishop's ensembles. Not only did he have incredible knowledge and passion for the music, when Mr. Bishop taught, he cared for all of us. You could tell by his actions and words that he wanted us to succeed. I want to offer my love for his family and the D300 community; truly a tragedy.”
