He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Hurd and Leaveu Leona Hurd (Brown); and his brother George W. Hurd, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, James Hurd (Sherrie) of St. Augustine, Scott Hurd (Jennifer) of Ft. Myers, Lori Hurd of Moline and Bobbi Jo Mason (Martin) of Buckeye, Arizona; his grandchildren, Miranda Hurd, Gabby Solomon (Austin), Allison Hurd, Mariah Clement, Olivia Wallenkamp (Landon), Kailee Hurd, Brandon Hurd and Broc Hurd; his great grandchildren, Aurora Hurd, McKenzie Moss, Freya and Thomas Solomon; his grandson Jon Collins; his siblings, John Hurd (Tommie) of Watertown and Patti Haney Ward of Geneseo, Illinois; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Hurd of Knoxville, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal (Bldg 118, Rodman Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61299).
