He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Hartman and Elizabeth Bierstedt Hartman; his former wife Berneta McCargar; and his brother Richard Hartman. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hartman; and his children, Susan Berrie (Ron), Sharon Bertram (Charles), Stanley Hartman (Kim), Steven Hartman (Christie) and Brian Sarabacha (Sara). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made in John's name to either the Edgewood Baptist Church Missions or to Second Winders, two causes that were dear to his heart.
