He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Dewey and Grace Ewing (Depietro); his wife Norma Jean Ferrier; and his sister Rita Southwood. He is survived by: his children, Christine DeLaRosa of East Moline, Cindy McMahon (Bernie) of Kirkland, Linda Elliff (John) of East Moline and David Ewing of East Moline; his grandchildren, Andrea DeLaRosa, Tony DeLaRosa (Sandra), Lindsey Gonzales (Joe), Elizabeth Ingersoll (Dan), Megan McMahon, Zachery McMahon, John Elliff Jr., Joe Elliff (Teri), James Elliff and Jason Elliff (Em); his great grandchildren, Riley Drinkall, Doug Drinkall, Natasha Drinkall, Ivy Ingersoll, DeiRon DeLaRosa, Imani Hadden, Annel Briick, Michael Endreson, Alyssa DeLaRosa, DeMassio DeLaRosa, Gio Gonzales, Gilliana Gonzales and Angelo Gonzales; his great great grandchild Melani DeLaRosa; and his pet Rocky.
A burial will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory (701 12th St, Moline, IL 61265). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Rock Island National Cemetery (1600 River Dr, Moline, IL 61265). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 12:30 PM at 711 1st Ave, Silvis, IL 61282.
