He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Gorter and Muriel Gorter (Holland); and his sister Susan Gorter. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Romine; his daughter Sarah Schenk (Karl); his grandsons, Eli and Quinn Schenk; his brother Howard Gorter; and his pet Hank.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory - Rock Island (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
