He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvel T. Matheny and Clarissa E. Matheny (Tripp); his brothers, Arvel "Ray" Matheny, William Matheny and Howard Matheny; his brothers-in-law, LeRoy Hodson, Dan Giosta, Rick Davis and Bud Courtway; his niece Rena Courtway; and his nephew Billy Matheny.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley of East Peoria; his daughters, Dorinda Christopher (Steve) of Peoria and Deborah Waldschmidt of East Peoria; his stepchildren, Bruce (Wendy) and Tammy (Roger); his grandchildren, Devon Latham (Codie), Kyle Waldschmidt and Jacob Fox; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley (Billy), Stephanie (Justin), Chris and Amber; his great grandchildren, Madison, Chase and Aurora; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Preston, Roman, Wyatt and Lily; his sisters, Rosemary Hodson of Pekin, IL, Janie Giosta of Pekin, IL, Linda Davis of Lake City, AR and Kay Courtway of Spring Bay, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Deb Matheny and Bobbi Pearson-Matheny. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
