He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Herring and Martha Herring (Swafford); and his sister Brenda Herring. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn S. Gotwalt of East Peoria; his children, Robert Bermes (Laura) of Metamora, IL and Lisa Bermes Shaw of Mapleton, IL; his granddaughter Kaylee Shaw Martin (Chase) of Pekin, IL; and his brother Aubrey Herring (Marva) of Missouri.
