Louis touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leno Basso and Regina Basso (Podasella); his wife Joan McCrank; and his brother George Basso. He is survived by: his children, Linda Wheatley of East Peoria and Paul Basso (Sue Elliott) of East Peoria; his stepdaughters, Heather Schmitt (Kevin) of East Peoria, Lisa DeVore (Roger) of Metamora and Christina Nolan (Josh) of Creve Coeur; and his sister-in-law Sofia Basso. He is also survived by two grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and five step-greatgrandchildren.
A Mass was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (3720 N Sterling Ave, Peoria, IL 61615).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
