He was predeceased by: his mother Karolyn Crouch (McCauley); and his stepfather David Crouch. He is survived by: his father Samuel Kent Sr. (Linda) of Summerfield, Florida.; his wife Jacky Kent of East Peoria; his children, Lauren Kent of Morton, Nathan Kent of East Peoria and Emma Kent of East Peoria; and his siblings, Doug Kent (Carrie) of East Peoria, Susan Adams (Tim) of Macomb and Beth Killen (Devin) of Tremont.
