Interment: Sunset Gardens of Memory Cemetery In loving memory of Tyra J. Whittaker, born June 27, 1991 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the proud parents of Tina Gates and Ronald Whittaker. Tyra, lovingly known as "Stanka" to family and friends grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois. She received her formal education at Cahokia High, Cahokia, Illinois and continued her education at Job Corps Service in St. Louis, Missouri.
She graduated with a degree in Office Administration Assistance in 2008. She was employed at Elite Staffing in Granite City, Illinois. Tyra was pursuing a career as a pediatrician, she was currently enrolled at Southwestern Illinois College of Belleville, Illinois. She enjoyed being around her family and friends, "Stanka was the life of the family." Tyra J. "Stanka" Whittaker departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2009.
Tyra will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
