With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Rose Williams of Edinburg, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 8, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferdinand Dentino and Oleda Dentino (Cucchi); her husband John Williams; and her brother Fred Dentino. She is survived by: her sons, John A. Williams (Lia) of Ladera Ranch, CA, Daniel L. Williams of Springfield and Douglas J. Williams (Jill) of Edinburg; her grandchildren, Jace A. Williams and Emily Rose Buschon (Bo); her great grandchild Scarlett Ray Buschon; and her sisters, Carmella Hollinshead of Springfield, Marian Dentino of Algonquin, IL and Deborah Looby (Thomas) of Algonquin, IL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church in Taylorville.
