In the vast expanse of eternity, Matthew Patrick shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Matthew Patrick farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his father C. W. "Mike" Jones. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Denise Gallant-Jones; his children, Benjamin Ryan Jones and Emersyn Rhys Jones; his mother Sandra S. Jones; his sister Lisa Jones (Dave Scott); and his half-siblings, Michael Jones (Debra) and Catherine Jones. He is also survived by numerous nephews, a niece.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude Catholic Church (10811 Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL 61615).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the W. D. Boyce Council, Scouting America, in support of the "Be Brave Initiative," a new scholarship fund created in Matt's memory to fund outdoor adventures for scouts whose parents or caregivers have been diagnosed with cancer.
