He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Melvin Niebur and Edna Niebur (Huelsman); his wife Debra Werden; his children, Ashley Sharp (Josh), Amanda Niebur, Abby Niebur and Andrew Niebur; his grandchildren, Blair and Brady Sharp; and his siblings, Randy Niebur (Jo), Jan Muckensturm (Mark), Gail Eagle (Roy) and Mark Niebur. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Under his leadership, the organization grew steadily in membership, expanded to three locations and achieved record levels of private donations to fund capital improvements by the time of his retirement in 2018.
