We are sad to announce that, on February 12, 2026, at the age of 86, Helen Ann Newton of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Watsek and Dorothy Watsek (Staden); her sister Mary Ellen Lohr-Behme; and her pet Harley. She is survived by: her husband Gary V. Newton; her children, Pam Bornemann (Dan) of Edwardsville, Patti Schaake (Mark) of Edwardsville, Mary Jo Cote (Ron) of Grafton, IL and Brett Newton (Ashley) of Lake St; her grandchildren, Kevin Bornemann (Ghen), Julie Dubuque (Johnny), Ryan Bornemann (Mariel), Kelly Bornemann, Jacob Schaake (Megan), Kyle Schaake (Lydia), Tyler Cote, Justin Cote, Bailey Cote, Betsy Higdon (Blake), Amelia Newton and Ben Newton; and her great grandchildren, Leah, Kylie Bornemann, Sophie, Chloe Dubuque, Ava Bornemann of Drake, J. J., Sam Schaake, Brixon Schaake and Zane Cote.
