He was predeceased by: his parents, Fedor Kowalenko and Maria Nezdominiha; his siblings, Zorina, Anatoly and Konstanyn; and his son-in-law Paul Ross.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Kowalenko of Glen Carbon; his children, Lisa Kowalenko of New York and Stephen Kowalenko (Christine) of Edwardsville; and his grandchildren, Ivan Kowalenko Ross, Sophia, Sydney, Luke Kowalenko and Carter Linn.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barry Wilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Ltd. (2800 N Center St, Maryville, IL 62062).
