He is survived by : his wife Martha Spears (Gore); his children, Brad Spears (Karen) and Mandy Suhre (Mike) of Edwardsville; his grandchildren, Sean Spears of Columbus, OH, Jake, Emily, Tommy Spears, Drew, Ryan and Ally Suhre of Edwardsville; and his brother Stephen Wayne Spears (Nancy) of Oviedo, FL..

A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
